F.A.M Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording of the new album?
Hello.
It's been quite a long time since our debut album came out...The band was active, somewhere in the underground...We played rehearsals , from time to time we gave some bigger or smaller gigs…we slowly made new material. In the meantime, there have been some personal changes and everything took some more time.

2.You have a new album coming out in September, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
When it comes to the sound, we are totally satisfied with the effect we have achieved. Guitars and the bass sound strong and brutal, but also clearly. The person who embraced the mixing, so MichaƂ Grabowski, knows how brutal music is supposed to sound. Michal also mixed our previous CD split material for "Radical circus team". In comparison to the first record, there is a great difference.  “Bullet(in)" was recorded 10 years ago and a lot has changed since then regarding  equipment  and
recording possibilities. We are more experienced and we knew how we wanted to sound and it has been achieved on this record.

3.This is the first full length to be released since 2007, can you tell us a little bit more about what has been going on during that time frame?
As I mentioned before, there have been some personal changes and it influenced the making of the new material. But also..we don’t live in the same city. I have been involved the cooperation with other bands such as XAOZ ,AMOROHOUS or CHRIST AGONY. Our lineup is stable now , we have new material, there are gigs in the future so we are ready to act with full force.

4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the newer music?
Zajac (voc)
It may sound trivial, whatsoever, but I raise questions which concern ourselves and our surrounding. The idea for lyrics can  be found everywhere in the news, in friend’s blogs. These are common emotions simply put on paper. When I am pissed off, it is easy to yell it out. But I don’t only focus on what is wrong.  Cool memories from tours, being the part of a stage prove to be good content of lyrics. And love, of course, because  All songs are about love, aren’t they?

5.I know that the band’s name means 'Furor Arma Ministrat', how does this name fit in with the musical style that you play?

All of  us get pissed off by a lot of Stuff…by everyday things, from trivial issues to such aspects in life we have no influence on , and they happen, irrespectively …hatred may fuse aggression, such as in power to act, in creative power…everyone has a different manner to let out negative emotions,  which are so deep in us …some are aggressive and hit their wives or kids , others go to watch football to smash each other’s faces  ..others do sports and so on…Due to playing music , we let out all our negative emotions…

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
So far, the best gig we have ever given, was at the best festival in the world which is  Obscene Extreme in 2009 and we hope to do it again ,right down there…  We give our best and  our approach to it is the same, no matter if the club is small or big  or it is a big festival …We do everything that’s in our might…

7.Do you have any touring or show plans once the new album is released?
At the moment we are preparing a few gigs to promote our new material..hopefully we will organize a tour …we will see…we are craving for gigs and we are open to new offers….

8.On the new album you had done a 'My Dying Bride' cover, what was the decision behind doing your own version of one of their songs?
This decision was spontaneous …I Heard this song one Day, and I thought that…fuck…if we play it faster that will be a great track…I did care not to make a “ typical cover” majority of bands make. Moreover, it was supposed to be a different type of a track, not in our style..

9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of death metal and grindcore?
We got many positive reviews from different parts of the world and we hope it will be similar in case of our new record.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
We are not planning to change anything regarding our music so far. We do not intend to experiment. I think it is gonna be even more brutal..

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
For sure it is a kind of a resultant of our fascinations related to death metal ,grind core and punk.
I am not keen on extreme music , and it doesn’t matter if we call it black death grind gore crust punk or thrash metal...

12.What are some of your non musical interests?
Music is a great part of my life because apart from making music I teach drums and deal with recordings. In my free time I like cooking something good, watching a good film or reading a good book.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
Thanx a lot for the interview. Check out our new material . Regards to all the readers. Support the stage and see you at gigs!!
