A Dream Of Poe/Lady Of Shallot/2010 EP Review

A Dream Of Poe are a band from Portugaal that has had a live album reviewed in this zine thats plays a style that I would describe as atmospheric/gothic/doom/death metal and this is a review of their 2010 e.p "Lady Of Shallot".

Drums are all slow drumming with no fast parts or blast beats, while the keyboards are very atmospheric and gothic sounding, as for the bass playing it follows the riffs coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars are all slow doom/death metal riffs that have a good amount of melody , while the lead guitars are slow and melodic without guitar solos being used, classical guitars when they are used bring a tragic element to the music.

Vocals are a mixture between clean singing and deep death metal growls with some female vocals being used at times and some spoken word parts, while the lyrics are depressing and poetic with some Egyptaim Mythology, as for the production it has a very heavy and professional sound without the back up of a record label.

In my opinion this is a good ep from A Dream Of Poe and it is their heaviest work to date, if you are a fan of atmospheric/gothic/doom/death metal you should check out this e.p. RECOMMENDED TRZCKS INCLUDE "Lady Of Shallot" and "Whispers Of Osisris". RCOMMENDED
